What value do the ASFOR accredited master programmes have?

16 June 2015

Taking the opportunity on the 25th anniversary of its master’s programmes accreditation, ASFOR (the Italian Association for Management Development) launched a study on the value created by its accreditation process over time. The analysis was conducted based on the annual reports completed by directors of each accredited programme, on the key indicators of each intake (e.g. selection rate, number of students, type of academic background and other demographic information, placement rate after six months, and type of job). During the last ten years, the “ASFOR Accredited” master’s programmes have graduated some 9 000 students, including MBAs, specialised master’s, and general management master’s.

A parallel survey was also launched among graduates to analyse their learning experience and their career development outcomes and satisfaction. The following key findings were identified: 1) the great majority of graduates (80%) find a job placement within six months, 2) students have different academic backgrounds (other than engineering, economics and management), genders and talents are valued, and 3) the expectations and degree of satisfaction were both very high (75%) among graduates.
