The Slovenian Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (SQAA) has produced a system-wide analysis with the aim to establish a qualitative state of affairs in the Slovenian higher education and higher vocational education area in the period from 2014 to 2017. The report looks at what is good, what could be better and what is not so good. The changes in regulations at the end of 2016 transferred a considerable amount of responsibility for the quality of education and research from SQAA to higher education institutions which also required a different assessment approach of institutions and study programmes by SQAA.
