10th ENQA General Assembly, 17-18 October 2019, Yerevan, Armenia
The 10th ENQA General Assembly will take place on 17-18 October 2019 in Yerevan, Armenia. The event is organised in cooperation with the National Centre for Professional Education Quality Assurance Foundation (ANQA) and will be held in the Tigran Mets Grand Ballroom of the Armenia Marriott Hotel located at 1 Amiryan Street, 0010 Yerevan, Armenia.
The programme of the 10th ENQA General Assembly will focus primarily on the future of higher education quality assurance and ENQA’s role to play in these future developments. A consolidated version of the ENQA Strategy 2021-2025 will be presented. Participants will be offered a chance to present a thematic poster on various topics and share their challenges and best practices. Please see for the call for posters section below.
The General Assembly on Day II allows members to conduct statutory procedures, during which time they will – among other things – participate in the election of Board members. Each member is allowed one vote while affiliates and partners are invited to the meeting as observers only.
Members that are unable to attend the GA but wish to vote during the GA may nominate a proxy. Members should write a letter informing the ENQA Secretariat of the agency they would like to designate as their proxy and send it by email to firstname.lastname@example.org by 26 September 2019.
The core General Assembly programme runs from 9:30 on 17 October to 13:00 on 18 October. More information on the optional pre-event and social programmes organised by ANQA can be found below.
Registration is now open. Click here or on the “Registration” tab on the right side menu to register.
ENQA members and affiliates should use the username and password of their own agency to register.
Places will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. For logistical reasons, participation is limited to two representatives per member agency (excluding ENQA Board members and poster presenters) and to one representative per affiliate.
The deadline to register is Wednesday, 2 October 2019.
Please note that registration is subject to confirmation and thus you should not book your travel or accommodation before receiving an email confirmation from the ENQA Secretariat. If you do not receive confirmation within three working days from your registration, please email us at email@example.com.
Call for Board Nominations
ENQA uses a rotation system in the election of its Board members, with three members’ terms expiring each year. All member agencies of ENQA are thus invited to nominate candidates to serve as ENQA Board members by Friday, 6 September 2019 at midnight GMT. Nominations should follow the criteria listed in the Invitation to nominate candidates to the ENQA Board 2019.
Call for Poster Proposals
Following the success of the poster sessions at recent ENQA General Assemblies, participants will have the exciting opportunity to share ideas and experiences in two thematic poster sessions on Day I of the programme. All participants are invited to propose a poster outline by Sunday, 1 September 2019 at midnight GMT. The following themes are possible:
- Future strategies of quality assurance agencies – where are we heading?
- Internal quality assurance of agencies – challenges and good practices
- Lessons learned from thematic analyses
- Stakeholder involvement – how to engage in meaningful cooperation
Proposals that are accepted will be notified by 13 September, after which the physical poster should be prepared by the presenters. More information about what to include in the proposal can be found in the call for poster proposals.
Participants arriving early to Yerevan are welcome to attend a facultative pre-event programme entitled “Discover Armenian culture with ANQA.” The programme will take place on Wednesday, 16 October from 15:30-21:00.
More information about the pre-event programme schedule will be provided in the coming weeks and will be included in the practical information document. Participants are invited to indicate their interest to attend during registration and before 16 September.
For those staying in Armenia after ENQA’s General Assembly, ANQA has also arranged an optional social programme. On Friday, 18 October 2019 at 14:30 a walking tour from the venue hotel to the Matenadaran of Armenia will be organized. During the walking tour, the participants will have the opportunity to explore a few of Armenia’s historical places.
More information about the social programme schedule will be provided in the coming weeks and will be found in the practical information document. Participants are invited to indicate their interest to attend during registration and before 16 September.
