PAASCU•Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities

The Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities (PAASCU) is an ENQA Affiliate.

PAASCU is a private, voluntary, non-profit, and non-stock corporation, registered with the Philippines’ Securities and Exchange Commission on November 5, 1957, and recognized by the Department of Education (DepEd) and the Commission on Higher Education (CHED).

PAASCU’s accreditation process is comprehensive, ensuring the quality of academic programs and institutions from basic to post-graduate education. Its quality definition is four-fold: fitness for purpose, compliance with minimum education standards set by the government, evidenced excellence based on learning outcomes, and responsiveness to stakeholders, particularly learners. The accreditation process engages the entire school community and its stakeholders and involves a thorough evaluation through self-survey and survey visits by independent experts using PAASCU’s 23 Quality Standards. To date, PAASCU has accredited programs in 250 institutions, including those outside the Philippines.

PAASCU is a member of The International Network for Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (INQAAHE), Asia-Pacific Quality Network (APQN), ASEAN Quality Assurance Network (AQAN), and Council for Higher Education Accreditation International Quality Group (CHEA-CIQG). It was recently given by the World Federation of Medical Education (WFME) a 10-year recognition for its accreditation of medical programs in the Philippines and Samoa.
