Research focused traineeship opportunity with the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA)

The European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA) is looking to host a trainee interested in the field of quality assurance/international higher education, with a particular focus on research and analysis.

The duration of the traineeship is 6 months (flexible, but minimum 3 months). The position will provide the trainee the opportunity to gain experience in analysis and small scale research in the field of QA of higher education.

POSITION TITLE: Research trainee

The mission of the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA) is to contribute significantly to the maintenance and enhancement of the quality of European higher education at a high level, and to act as a major driving force for the development of quality assurance across all the Bologna signatory countries.

DUTIES:
The Trainee will carry out cross-analysis of the reports produced in the framework of the ENQA Agency Reviews process, with the main purpose of detecting some overall trends, highlighting key challenges in implementation of the Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the EHEA (the “ESG” – core document of the ENQA review process), collecting and analysing some good practice emerging from the reports, and finding other relevant features. The analysis will be presented in the form of a report at the end of the traineeship.

ENQA’s Reviews’ Manager will support the trainee and act as his/her mentor.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong analytical skills
  • Capacity to grasp complex contexts easily
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • University degree or equivalent; or final stages of university level study
  • Interest in and knowledge of the field of higher education.

The traineeship will start as soon as possible after selection.

This traineeship is an unpaid position, but ENQA will offer a subsistence allowance to contribute to living costs in Brussels.
