ENQA Workshop on publication of QA results: purpose, structure and content

16 January 2014-17 January 2014 00:00-13:00

The workshop on publication of QA results: purpose, structure and content took place on 16-17 January 2014 in Zurich, Switzerland. This event was organised by ENQA in cooperation with the Swiss Center of Accreditation and Quality Assurance in Higher Education (OAQ) within the “Transparency of European higher education through public quality assurance reports” (EQArep) project of ENQA with the financial support of the Lifelong Learning Programme.

The overall aim of the project was to analyse the stakeholders’ information needs and use of quality assurance reports to meet those needs, to collect information on the current state of the art in the form, content and availability of reports produced by European quality assurance agencies, and to assess the feasibility of developing European Standards for the QA review reports or their summaries.

As a first step of the implementation phase, the project consortium, carried out a survey on the “Stakeholders’ transparency needs” and held a workshop in May 2013 in Tallinn, Estonia, gathering the stakeholders (students, HEIs, public authorities and employers) to present and validate the findings.

As a second step, the project partnership carried out a survey on the “Publication of QA results: purpose, structure and content” in order to map the current practices in reporting of the outcomes of QA procedures and, thus, to provide a general overview on the differences and communalities of reporting between agencies.

The outcomes of the survey will be complemented by an analysis of a sample of published QA reports in six target countries. In order to discuss the findings of the survey, ENQA, in collaboration with OAQ, organised a workshop on the same theme “Publication of QA results: purpose, structure and content”.
